Starting on Crossags Lane behind Ramsey Grammar School, run along the back of the golf course to Glen Auldyn Road. Carry on up Glen Auldyn (bearing right over the bridge just over 2km in).
This road soon turns into a track - follow this up until you reach a fork in the river, at around 4.8km. Here, stay right and you climb across the open land and heather. When you hit the farm track, turn left (south), for approximately 400m, where at about 6.8km you leave this farm track and head back into the open land.
This track drops in and back out of a small valley before climbing up the back (north side) of Snaefell.
From the summit, head back down due North East, aiming directly for Black Hut on the Mountain Road.
Follow alongside the Mountain Road (you do not need to cross the road - stay on the open land) until you reach Mountain Box, where you leave the roadside and head straight down the valley in front of you.
This joins the track you left at the river fork on your way up. Now follow the Glen Auldyn riverside track back to the start.
This trail includes the peak Snaefell.
Snaefell, the highest point on the Isle of Man.
Cafe, toilet and water are at the top of Snaefell in the summer months.
